The Alchemist Coffee @ Khong Guan building
#throwbackpost
I saw someone in Facebook going to The Alchemist Coffee and I thought the building looks quite cute. I was also looking forward to great coffee. Hence I jio-ed Hubby to go dating there one weekend. (only to know that he has gone there before – not with me)
The place was quite small and I was originally pleased to smell the roasting of coffee. I think in total, they had less than 20 seats (not tables, seats). We ordered 2 flat whites and 2 pastries.
I was disappointed with the coffee as it was not aromatic enough. It was a tad too sourish too. Hubby was disappointed too. The pastries were not heated up and there is no wow factor. All in all, F&B was disappointing here.
Luckily, they had rather nice ceiling.
Since it was a journey from home to Khong Guan building, we chilled a bit and took our time with our coffee and pastries.
When we left, there was a queue for the cafe. (Which I didn’t quite understand coz of the standard of what was provided.) To make our trip worthwhile, we took more pictures even though the sun was very bright, which on the bright side, made the pictures very nice.
In conclusion, go 1 time can already. I would propose taking pics outside the building then go back Tai Seng MRT there have your meals/ coffee. The selling point was only the location.
