Cruise to Nowhere – D2
Day 2 – 14 Sept 2021
Woke up at 7:00am for in-room dining breakfast. Was quite happy that they offer egg white omelette option as I try to increase my protein intake and reduce my carbs intake. #dietingislifelongplan
My original plan was to have breakfast then go for 9:00am line dance and then other activities along the way. Then we realised that it is too much of a rush and we wouldn’t be able to just nua. I was really looking forward to this voyage as I felt that I don’t have time to be bored. I was hoping to be bored and just nuaaa on this voyage. Hence, instead of rushing around for the different activities, we slowly had our breakfast at the balcony. I think balcony makes a difference, compared to a stateroom with no windows.
They are also very generous with the portioning. I told them it was 2 of us. So all our drinks came in 2s. It is quite nice just to nua in the balcony and just look at the sea. 🙂
trying for a yogi pose fail trying to keep straight the slippers very 碍眼 there.. but aiyah.. chin chye lah….
Somehow, after the relaxing breakfast, we managed to napped and by the time we woke up, it is already 1+pm. Really jiak pa koon koon pa jiak. I think one of the reasons we managed to nap was because we 认床 and didn’t really sleep the first night. We went to Windjammer as it only close at 3:00pm (I think – cannot access their app now for some reason). Windjammer is a buffet setting restaurant, no wonder online forum mentioned that it is one of the more popular dining location. Windjammer is only open for breakfast and lunch. As it is COVID-19 period, we were unable to self-service. RC had service crew at every station to give us our food. There are times when you have to vie for the crew’s attention with other guests but I would say that it was all managed very well. When I reached out to take individually portioned food, the crew will tell me cannot gently and to wait to be served. I thought this was safe distancing measures done right!
Admittedly I do not take nice food pictures….. Desserts was ok. I liked the warm chocolate with vanilla sauce
We decided to forgo in-room dining breakfast and go for Windjammer breakfast the next morning instead. 😀
We walked around the tracks to digest off our food. Our target was clock 10k steps. It was a good walk though it was repeated around the tracks. Hubby then decided to have pitstop at Seaplex Doghouse to have hot dog bun.
After hotdog, we went back to our stateroom to nua even more.
Each stateroom is able to bring in 2 bottles of wine on board. We brought 2 bottles of wine and 2 1.5l bottles of water as Jia told us that water is not provided but is still provided in restaurants. As a water buffalo, water supply is very important to me. Hence I brought water with me as well. I got the wine glasses from the pool bar (another great tip from Jia) and they gave me without asking too much. Only double confirming that I want empty ones. It was too much for us to finish a bottle of wine in 1 seating, hence we just chilled the wine (just wrapping cling wrap over the top) in our mini fridge and pour more for dinner at main dining area.
cheese plate coconut shrimp cocktail sweet and sour pork steak fish and chips brownie (the white one) and sugar free ice cream, not bad
Dinner was not bad and service was good as well. A far cry from the day before. Sweet and sour pork was the chef’s special, which the waiters will inform you every evening. Basically chef’s special is a dish which will not be on the menu but you can order. It was stated cod fish and chips, but it turns out to be seabass fish. It was still not bad though, at least it was not dory fish. Brownie was interesting. It was brownie cubes mixed with chocolate mousse. A jiak ba ba dinner.
